Christopher O’Mara, the visionary owner of Prettypaws, has dedicated his life to the well-being of pets. With over a decade of experience in the grooming industry, Christopher combines his love for animals with his expertise to deliver exceptional grooming services. His journey began with a deep passion for animals, leading him to establish Prettypaws in 2013. Under his leadership, the salon has become a trusted name in Haliburton and Bancroft, known for its personalized care and professional excellence. Christopher is committed to ensuring that every pet receives the highest standard of grooming, using only the best products and techniques. His dedication to quality and compassion has made Prettypaws a beloved part of the community.

In his spare time Chris breeds Canadian Kennel Club registered Whippets under the Comar kennel prefix — since 2015 Comar has produced Best in Show, Best in Specialty, and Top Ranked dogs in Canada and the United States. In 2023 “River” was the #1 Whippet #7 Hound in Canada and in 2024 “Ruby” is the #9 Whippet in America!



Christopher's Philosophy

The philosophy that has led to the success of Prettypaws is that every pet deserves the best care we can provide every time they visit — we are their caregivers, their advocates, and their friends. The bond between a dog and their groomer is not dissimilar to that of humans and their hair stylists. Our stylists build a personal bond with the dogs that they work on and this helps us to notice if there is any health or behaviour things happening out of the ordinary.
